Legendary figurines by les Etains du Graal - Lancelot with chair

A piece belonging to the round table set by Les étain du graal.

Lancelot makes his appearance in the legend of the knights of the round table in the 13th century.
He was born in Armorique and taken away from his parents at a very young age by Vivianne the fairy, better known as the lady of the lake. Vivianne looked after him until he reached 8 years old.
Lancelot  became Guinevere's lover.
According to a mroe recent legend, his father King Ban de Benoic owned a castlle neighbouring the enchanted forest of Broceliande in Brittany.

This figurine of Lancelot is a brilliant example.
Just like his faithful company of knights, he too points his sword to the center of the round table in allegiance and common purpose.
The details in his face, his tunic partially covering his armour and his helmet are perfectly designed, just magnificent.
The chair, offers less comfort of course, he isn't the king after all. Its simple, well finished, ideal.
All lame jokes apart, the knights chairs are truely magnificent.

A reinforced pin on one foot alloys the piece to be secured at the allotted place around the table.

Made in France
Each piece is beautifully finished by hand

Scale : 1/18
Height : 103 mm
