William the Conqueror, also known as William the bastard, as illigitimate son of Robert the Magnificent and  Arlette of Falaise.
It was in 1035, in his 8th year that William became duke of Mormandy after the death of his father.
In England a crisis arose about the succession to the throne after the death of Edward - so at that moment, William seized the crown of Angland in 1066.
In 1087 in Rouen, William died during reprisals with Philippe 1st, king of France.
