Goelo regional flag

This flag is based on the coat of arms for Goëlo, which was occupied and renamed Avaugour around 1220 as attested to in a seal from 1229, dating back to ancient times.

The white part has ermine spots on to show Goelo's allegiance to Brittany.

For a more exact symbolism and representation, it was divided diagonally into 2 parts thus illustrating its history.

This diagonal design is also aluded to in the coat of arms for  l’ile de Bréhat, the jewel of the region, not withstanding Etables and Plourhan.

Red, white and ermines feature particularly in teh local arms designs for Châtelaudren, Quintin, Bréhat, Etables, Lanvollon, Plourhan, Plélo, Plouvara.

Dimensions: 1.50 m. x 1.0 m.
Made in :  Reinforced Polyester
