Armand Jean du Plessis de Richelieu, better known as cardinal Richelieu.
In 1624 he became the leading minister to Louis XIII. He remained in this post until his death in 1642. Made by: Les étains du Graal

Born in 1585 in Paris, he died in 1642.
Although he was destined for a military career, his family expected him to join holy orders as a monk in order to retain the Bishop's Palace ( l'évêché de Luçon) within the family as it brought a significant income with it.
In 1615 Marie de Médicis had Richelier Grand Chaplain to Anne d'Autriche, the young queen of France.
He became a fine politician and a most useful diplomat.
