Piece designed as part of Les étain du graal set.
Sir Hector de Maris is a character featuring in the arthurien legend who first appeared at the end of the 12th century in the Mons manuscript.
Sir Hector is the son of King Ban de Bénoïc, in actual fact, he is the half brother of Lancelot.
As a knight of the round table, he is part of the quest for the grail.
Sir Hector, like his fellow knights, points his sword to the centre of the table in a manor honouring their covenant of chivalery.
Les Etains du graal have somehow managed to make this replica of Sir Hector almost alive, it is astonishing.
This figurine of Sir Hector is so refined in its detail, beginning with his helmet decorated with the head of a unicorn. His tunic features intricate folds in it, his chain mail is so well done, you can count the rings.
Another amazing feat for Les Etains du graal.
The knights' chairs are remarkably simple. This is what gives them their charm.
A reinforced pin under one foot allows the piece to be placed securely at its alloted space at the round table.
