Captain William Kidd had an incredible life, after killing William Moore with a lead bucket, he decided to follow a career in pirating. It was under the quil of famous writer Edgar Allan Poe and Robert Louis Stevenson that Kidd emmerged into the limelight.

William Kidd was born in 1645 in Scotland, and following a life particularly fulfilling and adventurous, he went to the gallows in 1701.
In New York he found wealth thanks to his marriage to the american Sarah bradley climbing the ladder as a respectable merchant before becoming a pirate.
A famous legend continued to emmerge around captain Kidd who said that his treasure was always buried somewhere.
His story, an account of his life has been penned by Edgar Allan Poe in the "The Gold bug", but also by Robert Louis Stevenson in "Treasure island"
